Could someone help me with this snake dream?

I was in an arid place with nothing but devastation around me and a few other people. I myself was a totally different person in age and ethnicity. My husband nor my children were anywhere in the dream. The group was being chased by something that was unseen. Yet it was like everyone but me knew what it was. In the end, the thing had chased us litterally between a rock and a hard place. There was an enemy army coming from the front and it coming from the back. I looked back and this enormous snake raised it's head out of sand with it's tail still yards behind it. As it opened it's month to strike I woke up.
